Bursitis: Understanding the Condition and Your Treatment Options
What Is Bursitis?
Throughout the body, there are more than 140 small, fluid-filled sacs known as bursae. These structures act as cushions between bones, tendons, and muscles, reducing friction and allowing smooth joint movement.
When one of these bursae becomes inflamed or irritated, the result is a painful condition called bursitis. This inflammation leads to swelling, tenderness, and stiffness in the affected area, often limiting your ability to move comfortably.
